Mandy Moore - “Candy”

Oh my god. I love it. LOVE IT.

It’s so terrible. First of all, let’s start with the CD player slung over her shoulder. I had no idea they even made shoulder straps for CD players back then. AMAZING. Then there’s the hair — the spikey/pigtailed hot mess that just screams 2001. Then, of course there’s the bright green VW Beetle and skater-boi love interest who’s cool enough to drive a motorized scooter.

And can I just say that I feel incredibly creepy watching a very young Mandy Moore singing about how she’s addicted to the lovin’ I’m feeding her? Ewwie. I’m so glad Mandy’s grown up into a real artist.

P.S. That little spoken interlude is still the best thing in the history of the world.
