The Pussycat Dolls - “When I Grow Up”

I’m gonna say what you’ve been thinking: This song is amazing.

But the video? Not so much — well, the first half at least. It starts with the girls dressed up in neon colors like Technicolor strippers in a convertible, and then before we know it they’re walking down the street while a machine pumps bubbles into the air. Those bubbles really ruined it for me. WTF, PCD?

Luckily the video redeems itself toward the middle when the girls climb up onto some scaffolding and start workin’ it like the hookers we’ve come to love. And then there’s the dance break toward the end, which finally shifts into the shiny, professional-looking music video material I was expecting from this video.

All those breast implants deserve nothing but the best.
