Daniel Bedingfield - “If You’re Not The One”

I might have said it before: I think Daniel Bedingfield’s androgynous voice is disturbing and confusing. But it doesn’t really matter, because this song is kind of amazing.

It might sound sappy — because it is — but this track from our favorite two-hit-wonder does a great job of summing up exactly what people are feeling after their heart’s been broken. Most people can identify with that feeling, I think, and that alone makes it a great song.

It’s not enough to simply be identifiable, though; it’s also got a catchy and powerful melody that makes it irresistible — and probably impossible to sing for anyone without Daniel’s interesting vocal range, and that’s something I can get behind.

Daniel Bedingfield - “Gotta Get Thru This”

I’m sorry, but there is seriously something messed up about Daniel Bedingfield’s voice. In this song, he sounds like he’s about 12. In “If You’re Not the One,” he sounds like a woman.

I don’t care, though, because I love this song… And I really have no idea why. Maybe it’s because I have an insane weakness for imported British pop music.

Could someone please explain to me why I love it so much?
