Destiny’s Child - “Lose My Breath”

If there’s one thing you can count on from Destiny’s Child, it’s awesomely bad costumes. And awesomely bad videos.

And let me tell you: they totally delivered with this one. Not only are they wearing more awful costumes than you can shake your weave at, but they’re dance-fighting with themselves! All of my wildest dreams came true with this video.

Aside from being a visual piece of art, it’s also my favorite Destiny’s Child song because of that fantastically danceable beat, and I could watch/listen to this all day long.

Destiny’s Child - “Bills Bills Bills”

I don’t even know where to start with this amazing gem of a video.

First, can I just point out how amazing it is that it takes place in a hair salon? I think every song about independent women should take place in a hair salon.

And then there’s the fact that this was made in Destiny’s Child’s early days, before the lineup of Beyoncé, Kelly and Michelle that we’re so used to. I don’t even remember those other two girls’ names. Do you?

And how about the outfits? Completely practical, right? I wear shit like that in my everyday life, so it only makes sense that they do, too. Was this back when Beyoncé’s mom still made all their clothes? If so, I need to hire her as my personal stylist.

Michelle Williams - “We Break the Dawn”

The opening notes might make your ears bleed, but the rest of “We Break the Dawn” is pretty fantastic. It makes me want to dance all night, which I didn’t expect. I never thought The Destiny’s Child Singer Whom No One Remembers would put out an awesome dance-pop song.

It’s a shame that no one really paid attention when Williams released her non-Christian-y dance album, because it’s actually not that bad. It also didn’t help that her label chose to release the forgettable track “The Greatest” as the album’s second single. “Hello Heartbreak” would have been a better choice.

If, like me, you’re annoyed by this version, check out “We Break the Dawn Pt. 2,” from Williams’ full album, “Unexpected.” It’s basically like a remixed version of the song with some rapping and less annoying background music :)

Destiny’s Child - “Bootylicious”

What does an extremely ridiculous song about butts deserve? A just as equally ridiculous video featuring ugly clothes and a Stevie Nicks cameo. Because… You know… That seems logical. Oh, and did I mention Beyoncé in a pimp costume, complete with gold tooth? Yeah…

I hope this video is used as an example of early-2000s fashion. Because everyone I know dressed just like that, in painfully bright variations of basic colors.

Destiny’s Child - “Jumpin’ Jumpin’”

Destiny’s Child song are always hilarious and terrible, but this song deserves to be on here simply because of this line:

“The club is full of ballers and their pockets full of dough.”

Any song that features the world “baller” and takes itself seriously deserves the title of “awesomely bad.”

O-Town - “Liquid Dreams”

The pretty boys! The ultra-realistic CGI liquid! The J.Lo and Destiny’s Child references!
