Good Charlotte - “The Anthem”

When I think of the most barftastic songs ever made, this one comes to mind (naturally).

It’s not even necessarily the fact that Good Charlotte sings it that makes it so terrible; any song titled “The Anthem” is just destined to be an awful piece of crap. It’s your typical emo-punk, antisocial song that “rebels” against the status quo, and it’s nothing that hasn’t been done before. The song’s line, “another loser anthem” really says it all.

But I’ll be damned if it isn’t one catchy pile of poo. It definitely gets stuck in your head after a single listen, and if that’s not the point of pop music, then I don’t know what is.
