I honestly, truly, don’t understand why this song wasn’t a massive hit. It’s the fourth-most-played song on my iTunes, and it played on my iPod almost nonstop the whole late summer/fall after it came out. And for good reason.
It’s catchy, it’s fun, it’s got a great beat. It’s pretty much I’ve come to want and need from Jennifer Lopez, but I guess that’s also the song’s greatest flaw. Lately, it seems like J.Lo’s involvement in anything has been the kiss of death.
I don’t care; I still love the woman, even if no one else does, and I’ll keep on hopin’ that she has another massive hit under that bootylicious belt of hers.
♥ | 50 playsI’m not sure which came first: the diva rumors, or this song, but I do know that I love it. It’s a nice “fuck you” to all the flashy “ballers” that think the amount of money they spend on you is the most important thing about themselves.
I used to think that it was ridiculous that someone as rich as J.Lo would sing about how she’s not attracted to rich guys, but then I realized that it’s true because she’s so fucking rich that she doesn’t need a rich husband. Think about it. Girl’s got it made.
I wonder how many anti-superficial songs she has to make before people stop labeling her as a diva?
♥ | 47 playsCall this song what you will—boring, repetitive, inane—but personally I’m glad she released it.
Without it, I might never have known how to pronounce the name of the titular shoe designer who’s known for his shoes’ bright red bottoms. I might keep pronouncing it “LOO-boo-tins” or “lou-BOW-tins.”
Every day I thank god that I have Jennifer Lopez and her materialistic music—without it I would seem so much more ignorant about high fashion and other expensive things most normal people can’t afford.

I want to hate this song. I really, really do. It is, after all, probably the most annoying song I’ve ever heard.
But I can’t. Besides the song’s completely irresistible beat, the video is just fantastic. So good. We get to see Jennifer playing a chola (yesssssssss!), a DJ (nice ‘fro!), and a spunky blonde bartender (nice wig!). Does it get any better?
J Lo’s best video to date, by far. OK. I take that back. “I’m Glad” is a better video. But still, this one’s pretty damn good.
Jennifer Lopez - “If You Had My Love”
This song was stuck in my head the whole summer when it first came out.
But let’s talk about this video for a second. WTF? Talk about voyeurism… I feel like I’m watching a J.Lo wannabe ho stripping on a webcam.
And that dance break in the middle? Makes complete sense. Work it, Fly Girl!
